I get Florian. I see a lot of myself in him: nerdy middle class kid who loves the competition. He wrote a really good article in this month's Fight! magazine (I got a subscription for Christmas!!!). It was kind of a mini-autobiography of his mental development through the sport. Good read, I'll see if I can post it here.

OK, well i can't find the article online. Shockingly, Fight! magazine apparently prefers patrons to buy the magazine & read the articles as opposed to reading them for free!

If I have enough time, I'll type it out. It's not that long.
