Just my .02, but if Silva relinquishes his title and opts not to pursue the LHW belt as he has said he will not, then that will relieve him of his "championship clause." He could then finish out the remaining fights on his contract, walk away from MMA/UFC and then his case will be air-tight w/o interference to make the fight happen w/ Roy Jones.

Just an opinion, and if that's what it is.. Well played by AS and management. we as fans get to see exciting fights for the duration of his contract and AS gets to chase his boxing dream

I think he's afraid of Demian Maia.

Seriously, holding two belts would only solidify his position as a top three P4P fighter. There is still some competition at 185 for him.....

What this also brings about is Dana White's money making machine known as the UFC, while there are other fighters at 205 working hard to get a shot at Machida and his belt, White and Joe Silva will most likely make a A. Silva V Machida fight happen sooner rather than later. Most of us know how Dana White feels about friends not wanting to fight friends.

Later.

I use to think GSP was 1# but Silva proved last night he is.

He is the best striker in MMA and has no competition at 185.

A.Silva VS Rampage is a fight I want to see.

You don't think that Maia would provide any competition to Silva?

No I really don't.

Anderson will not be taken down by him and therefore not threatened at all. Anderson would knock Maia out in the first 2 minutes if he chooses too.

Watch Maia's previous fights his striking and his defense are sub par which they can't be fighting Silva.

No way would he beat Hendo. I doubt GSP could get a takedown and I think Hendo would KO him at some point. Wandy and Maia would cause problems. I think Franklin at 185 would beat GSP.
