They have already caved on the Sambo thing, this has nothing to do with restrictions...It is all about the M-1 co promotion BS, Vadim is the reason why this isn't happening...If the reports are true, this is not the ufc's fault...at this point, they have done all they can do and at this point if they still don't get it done, M-1 can shove it up there a$$

money isn't the issue. Vadim has said the UFC has always offered the most. what the UFC isn't telling you, is that if Fedor is champ, and undefeated when his deal expires, the UFC automatically extends it. he has to lose to get out of that contract.

I just read this on MMAWEEKLY

FEDOR NOT A UFC FIGHTER, BUT IS EA COVER BOY
Wednesday, July 29, 2009 - by Ken Pishna - MMAWeekly.com

As a report from the L.A. Times surfaced on the Internet on Tuesday, that Fedor Emelianenko and the Ultimate Fighting Championship were all but done negotiating a deal that would land the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in the world’s foremost mixed martial arts promotion, Fedor’s management gathered a press conference on Wednesday that far from confirmed such reports.

In fact, the press conference in Anaheim, Calif., only served to confirm counter reports that the two parties were still far from finalizing a contract.

The UFC made initial offers that M-1 Global countered, with company president Vadim Finkelchtein saying, “The UFC has their champions; we (M-1 Global) also have our champions and our representatives. We offered to have a co-promotion.”

He says that the UFC met the counter “very quietly.” The UFC has been resistant to holding a co-promoted event, even in attempts to land Fedor.

“The UFC made a different offer that was a very good offer,” continued Finkelchtein, but it still hasn’t been enough to bridge the gap between the two parties and they remain at an impasse.

The door is still open for those that hope to see Fedor Emelianenko in the Octagon across from Brock Lesnar or Randy Couture.

“Maybe not now, but maybe later,” Finkelchtein said of further progress being possible.

Fedor’s camp on Wednesday also announced that the fighter would grace the cover of the upcoming mixed martial arts video game from EA Sports.

“EA Sports (on Wednesday) will announce that Fedor Emelianenko will headline the EA Sports mixed martial arts fighter game due October next year, also along with Gegard Mousasi and Renato Babalu Sobral, who will also be in the game,” announced Jerry Millen, M-1’s vice president in the United States.

Although UFC President Dana White has remained steadfast in his comments that the UFC will not work with fighters that ink a deal with EA Sports, it is unlikely that Fedor’s already signed agreement with the video game company would create a chasm too wide to cross. Current UFC fighter Randy Couture also had a deal in place with EA Sports before he returned to the promotion last year.

I just don't see that part happening imo, I like Fedor I think hes great for the sport, but he will lose 1-2x before he retires. How many fights does Fedor have left in him,hes like 31/32,competes in Sambo which takes a toll eventually 'Father Time' will win(though I think Fedor could armbar him ).

So how the heck is Tim in both games? was it just the timing of his leaving the UFC?

I like how Vadim attempts to give the impression M-1 is something more then a logo on Fedors shorts or a flea riding on the back of something much larger. Idiot. I am so pissed right now..

One can def make the arguement that M-1 is keeping Fedor away from the UFC to protect their ONLY asset, no doubt about that now. Sad, I tip my hat to the UFC, they tried, its Fedor Inc. that arent making this happen.

I say if Fedor goes undefeated for 6 fights, instead of making a clause saying he cant leave, all fights from there on end would be co-promo fights until he loses. I think that would benefit everyboody. As for making every fight with Fedor in the UFC a co-promo event, thats what one would call "Putin politics" AKA Crazy f(&*^$% Russian Supremacism.

I think Fedor Inc. has let down MMA, hard.

No way Dana is going to do any cross-promotion with anybody other than, possibly a minor/no-name league or the WEC.

M-1 will go down just like all the others. If Pride couldn't hang, nobody will hang.
