Default Mir vs. Kongo at UFC 107?

http://mmajunkie.com/news/15642/repo...n-december.mma
Quote:
A heavyweight matchup between recently defeated contenders Checik Kongo (14-5-1 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Frank Mir (12-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) is reportedly in the works for UFC 107.

A report earlier this month from MMABay a U.K.-based website with ties to Kongo's training camp linked the 34-year-old to the event, and a subsequent posting from Canadian-based Spotsnet.ca indicated Mir is the French striker's tentative opponent.

UFC 107 is scheduled for Dec. 12 at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.

Sources close to Mir's camp have indicated to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the former heavyweight champion has already returned to training following his UFC 100 loss to Brock Lesnar. And while the same sources indicate the organization has yet to approach Mir with the potential contest, the former champ has apparently indicated he'd be open to the matchup.
If this happens, I think Mir will win by submission.

Kongo will KO him if he learns to quit rushing opponents when they're hurt.

Who cares about Kongo anymore?? He's not that stellar, just big, bumpy and scary looking. I don't think he'll ever get a title shot.

And now that Mir has been beaten by the champ in a frighteningly decisive manner, should we consider him to be 'relevant' anymore??

(I'm starting to think a lot like Dana - yikes!)

ps. Mir would sub him.

Kongo has no ground game and never will.

Mir subs Kongo while drinking a Coors...

I have 2 predictions.

Kongo by KO
Mir by submission

IMO, this fight is up to Kongo, but he needs to work on his takedowns.

there is such a huge gap in the ground game of the two fighters that even if mir pulls guard and kongo ends up on top he will still submit kongo with ease. mir by armbar.

This would be a good fight, i dont think Mir would push Kongo like Cain did, he was just relentless and Congo could find no rest or space.

Congo is good fighter and has great striking and i respect him for the way he nearly took Cain out twice and never gave up after taking a pounding. His heart was incrediable, so i dont get all this negativity about him.

I still take Mir to win but i'd look forward to this one.

If Mir gets another run going then there is a rubber match with Brock, he is still more than relevant.
