Yes and no. When the skill levels are close strength becomes the difference. 10 Technique vs 7, 8 or 9 technique then strength is going to be the difference. The Matt vs Gracie fight is an example of this. On the other hand 10 Technique will most often beat 5 technique. Mir vs Brock I was an example of this. Brock was much stronger but his lack of technique allowed Mir to get the win.

can someone explain these strength and technique "levels" please...how do you know who has what level

Yes, but Brock is not the same level in technique as he was. Everyone knows that you can get caught in a submission. Reguardless of skill level, look at Jeremy Horn vs J. Santiago. Horn is far better than Santiago in subs.

I think you would need one of those meters like they use on Dragon Ball Z

i think brock takes this ... mir has too much confidence after out striking a blind nogeira ... couture will do the same ... don't know how nog is passing these physicals ...

but mir got lucky in the first fight and could get lucky again, but i think brock takes it via GNP

Kinda reminds me of that joke, "Where does a 1-ton gorilla sit? Wherever he wants." In this case, it's more like, "How does Brock finish his opponent? Wherever he wants."
