Bas Rutten: "I told Kimbo he was an ***hole."

Bas is one of those guys who i wish came along later in MMA ... too bad we didn't get to see him fight today's fighters ... but he is still great as an announcer and stuff ... as for not liking kimbo, i have never met him, but most mma fans hated him because he was promoted like an MMA God ... i can't blame the guy for taking the money like he did ... anyone would have ... hopefully he can do well in TUF, but i think he is one of those guys like Chech who will never be good on the ground and therefore won't do great in mma ..

I'm glad to hear that Bas is done with him. I was upset when I heard he was coaching Kimbo in the first place.

I don't really think this is an indictment of Kimbo's character - the guy's in ring persona is more pro wrestler/comic book (blame Shaw and YouTube), he's in his mid 30s, and this isn't his passion, it's a way for him to get paid. He's a big guy with some pop, but I don't really think anyone expected him to be more than a sideshow/ratings booster as a pro fighter. Can't blame him for getting paid though

this reminds me so much of rocky V when sly took some young brute from the streets under his wing and then the kid turned into an asshole and screwed rocky over.

i always wondered why bas was so infatuated with kimbo. it's good to see he finally saw the light. kimbo is trash.

is this why brock got boooed? him and kimbo are the same??
