A video I did to Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" of my oldest Daughter Abigail through the years. I used to rock her in my chair & sing this song to her when she was sleepy or scared when she was little. Sometimes she still gets me to sing it to her. My favorite picture is at the very end of the video.

Part One of John Taverners: Fall and Ressurection

It charts Creation up to The Fall of Eden

What I love most about this...and I tell you now, I hate most of John Taverner because his music is largely based on disonence and horrible harmonic discordance...but what I love best about this piece is from 11.30-12.30 You hear a Horn like Trumpet over the top of the din, something I think he is using to refer to Angelic Proclaimations, since it occures again at the Incarnation, in this first instance to signify the war cry against the Heavenly Rebellion. Its an outstanding touch

Remember the place
Oh wonderful day
The moment our fate was revealed

Through my eyes you can see
All the love within me

Oh all that i have
My soul i will give

I know i believe
Your my reason to live

Colours are fading
Lost in the dark
Tears of blood staining
Snow freezing my heart

Now i am leaving
My world is nomore
My love my all
Into your arms i fall
Your my reason

Take me away
I'll go where you are
I'll follow my heart to the end

With the pain far behind
Where you'll sleep i'll fly

Oh take me away
My life i will give
All that have
Was for you my reason

This is the most haunting setting of the Kyrie I know, the introduction is one of my favourite bits of music

I wont comment on the singer...except to say he has a tendancy to go flat

Its a very sombre piece because it happens right after something that doesnt really belong in a Christian Mass at all, but is VERY perternant to some of the more recent major wars.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw3kRv6SVN0 there was some very uneasy people who heard this sung in Ripon Cathedral afew years ago...the laugh of it is, of course, that all conqured countries with churches would have been adapted for this very piece.

I love me some Widor...but this is the first time I've heard his Toccata in context of how it was composed, rather then at a Wedding
