Unfortunately, this is the day of the liberal double standard in America. If you are a conservative, Christian, and/or Republican, then you are fair game for all kinds of slander, libel, personal attacks, or whatever would be considered tasteless, evil, or racist if aimed at a liberal Democrat.

I agree with the attacking the children is wrong no matter what ur are liberal,conservitive,democrat,republican you really shouldn't attack ones children. Eventhough she may of done wrong,but what teenager hasn't made mistakes in their lives..

I guess I was just so taken-a-back by his response, which is personalized because it was directly to me, that I felt the need to talk about it. I agree too!!! What happened to Sarah Palin during the elections and is still happening to her and her family, I think, is beyond the pale of any acceptable "political" digs. From the get-go, she had a target on her back not only from men but from women too. I thought families were off limits especially children, but I guess if you're a woman running for a high office, all bets are off and anything goes.

I don't know what David Letterman or anybody else thinks is funny about that "joke" he told no matter how old her child is. As for that pansy ass "jounalist", he should be exposed. You ought to get in touch with Greta Van Susteren, JB. She's been talking about this the last few nights on her show. I don't know if you watch her, but she's one of the few people I can still watch who actually tries to be professional and fair (from what I've seen). Greta asked tonight, "Where are all the feminists? Why are none of them coming to Palin's defense or speaking out like they did when Imus screwed up with his comments of the ladies' basketball team?" I guess they're still in the same place they were when this was happening during the elections. No one was allowed to say anything about Michelle Obama or her kids then or now. I saw/see nothing comparable to what's been going on with Palin.

And for the guys out there who think like that old geezer on the radio that Palin's daughter or any girl or woman who lays down with a guy w/o the benefit of marriage (whether she gets "knocked-up" or not) is a whore, just remember she's not lying there alone. So, as far as I'm concerned, if she's a whore, so is he!

I have always believed that the Kids should especially be off limits! In fact I challenge anyone to provide an example of me saying anything mean about Obama's kid's. While I think Obama is a crooked Communist and have said so I leave his kids out of it. In fact I can't remember any Republicans attacking his kids in anywhere near the Fashion the Palin family was attacked by the libs! Maybe you could write a letter to the editer pointing out this lack of decency. Be sure and explain that you would also be upset if it was anybody Else's kids being attacked. The way the press is going after her they must still see her as a threat to their Chosen one!

Thats' another point I was trying to raise, it seems like an institutional problem.

Obviously "talk-radio" is MOSTLY controlled by conservatives, if you look at it, there is no question. However, it just seems this kind of behavior is only manifested through mouthpieces of the liberal persuasion in this day and age. Though, I don't doubt there are crazies on the right doing this stuff, I just don't see it happening at the same levels as it does on the left.

How many conservative commentators, comedians, talk-radio hosts, etc. attacked Chelsea Clinton while Bill was in office? It'd would be interesting to know if it ever happened and what the reaction was from the left.

I do seem to remember all the attacks on the Bush twins during the previous administration. However, they might have brought a lot of that on themselves with their antics.

You'd think her daughter was the only young woman to ever get pregnant out of wedlock the way they've carried on. Even the ladies on THE VIEW knew what Letterman said was wrong. Well, except for Joy Behar, she is just a die-hard liberal and will NEVER agree with anything that could possibly empower the right wing in ANY way. Besides, Letterman's joke was NOT EVEN FUNNY. Not only was it out of line, and offensive, I just did not see the connection between A-Rod and Palin's daughter. He is old and meaningless, he can go away any time now, TYVM.
