Chuck's base is Hawaiian Kempo, which is direct from Okinawa. Machida's is Shotokan Karate, from Japan.

If Chuck can fix the hole in his game.. I think it would be a good fight. I would be rooting for Chuck, but Chuck is more of a all around MMA guy as opposed to Machida making karate work in MMA..

Chuck's base is wrestling.. and striking. Lyoto is karate and footwork. He has a great ground game... but hasn't had to use it yet.


As far as TUF.. I don't want to see Lyoto do TUF. I would like to see Serra and Hughes coach again.. or Chuck/Randy again.

I think it'll be Shogun. Dana was talking on the conference call that he should be announcing the challenger soon. If Shogun was there this week, plus not many other open contenders, I think that'll be the one. He's won two in a row, plus his resume is pretty impressive, so it's very likely he'll be the one. Who else is there? As mentioned, any other contenders are already tied up.

That said, War Ma-freaking-chida.

i hear it is BJ .... Bj wants to move to 205 and thinks he beat machida the last time ...
