Finishing Bonus or maybe removal of win bonuses by decision?

But who do you think is to blame for that? I mean, is it the refs just not doing their job, or is the UFC telling them not to?

There were a few times they took points away even though the whole fight was back and forth action packed.

this is the ultimate fighting championship, not the ultimate finishing championship. fans are getting way too hungry for spectacular finishes these days. mainly they've been spoiled by anderson silva, that's where all this conversation started in the first place. he had seven awesome finishes in a row and now that he finally doesn't finish two opponents in a row, everyone is whining. it's really sad.

but i do think there should be yellow cards for continually falling down on your butt on purpose like leites was doing.

It is stupid to take away for not finishing a fight. that is why the pride system works. it doesnt have to be a finish but it will punsh people that run away or lay and pray without trying to finish thats what matters the trying to finish the fight not if it atuly happens or not

I am not talking about taking money away for not finishing a fight but for not making an attempt to fight. Whats a warning, a point deduction going to do against a guy whos already losing 3 rounds. Leites didn't do anything to make it anywhere close to a fight. A fighter gets payed to fight, not fighting or making an attempt at it should come with some form of repercussion.

Dana should institute a "finishing bonus." They already have "Fight of the Night", "Submission of the Night", and "KO of the night,", but I think it would help all the fighters know they can get some extra money in the fight by not letting it go to the judges. Granted, the fighters shouldn't allow that to happen anyways.

Or possibly not awarding a "win bonus" if it goes to the judges' hands? Now I realize sometimes the fighters are working their asses off (Sherk/Griffin, Sherk/Hughes, etc.) to get the finish, but if it doesn't happen, too bad.

I think that the finishing Bonus should go to the guy who finishes the match, not the pair of them...but that might cost the company heaps...so I say scrap the win bonus unless they finish their oppoenent
