Not sure if this is true. The talent at the top was always about the same but PRIDE was the deeper of the orgs and becasue of that they were able to put on more exciting shows. PRIDE had the best LW's but UFC did not have a LW div. UFC had the best WW's but PRIDE did not have a WW div. As far as MW's go UFC had Rich and that was it Pride had Hendo, Kang, Filho as well as other. LHW was stacked for both orgs. HW UFC had Tim and AA and that was it and PRIDE had crap tons of good HW's.

The talent in the UFC now is very deep though so the UFC is able to but on much better shows, at least on paper, than any org has ever been abel to.

Pride/UFC......that's neither here or there for me!

I will say this, for about the last year, UFC has been putting on some really lame PPV's. Definitely not worth shelling out the extra $50 a month.

I agree. I am just not that interested lately in the cards they have been putting together. It seems like there are a couple of good fights and then a bunch of TUF rejects fighting.

Probably one of my least favorite descriptors. That, 'beast' and 'owned' all suck equally.

I'm with you on that one. I hate when people use the word "rape" in sports. It really devalues the word and minimizes how terrible it really is.

Yeah. When I hear someone describe a sporting event with something like "Oh man! He just got raped!", I think it's terrible. How would an actual rape victim feel about that statement. Is being run smashed against the boards in a hockey game really the same as being sexually assaulted? I don't think so.

I know it's also not the same as being "crushed", "destroyed", etc. but those words don't carry the same emotional value as "raped".
