Okay, because Anderson Silva's master plan is to put on boring fights so that he can go fight Roy Jones and then come back to the UFC.

I think you killed the sheep and pulled the wool over your own eyes on this one.

Well, I am aware Dana won't let it happen, but I don't see what it would hurt,
big deal is RJJ Ko's him in a boxing match, AS would destroy him in an MMA fight

Thats not his style. Nope, this way he gets what he wants without losing face, its not his fault the MMA fans cant comprehend his brilliance, and the UFC is a business.

He's not a dumbass.
Yeah exactly, and that hurt Randy more than it helped him,
look how long he was out for.

At least this way AS doesn't get ring rust lol
and he keeps getting paid.

True. He's put a LOT of thought into this. Its actually a testiment of his inginuity

I still wish he'd try his best though...I hate to see tallent go to waste...but unlike BJ Penn...he does already have a legacy, and at least he's being cerebral about what he's doing.

I meant a boxing match inside the UFC cage.

People always feel the need to vindicate MMA by saying "oh, Silva would kill Jones in an MMA fight".... Yeah, we know that. It was not Jones who challenged Silva to an MMA fight, it was Silva who challenged Jones to a Boxing match.

What it would hurt is the credibility of MMA's fighters in the debate between Boxing and MMA in the media world. Is that big of deal to fans like us? Not really.

Dave, you really need to stop talking like this theory is actually a fact.

Until you have some REAL evidence, your theory is about as plausible as George Bush blowing up the World Trade Center.

Well exactly, so it wouldn't hurt the sport of MMA, or the UFC at all.
Nobody would stop watching the UFC if RJJ beat AS in a boxing match.

It wouldn't hurt, and AS said its been his dream for a long time,
everybody laughed when he said he would do ANYTHING to fight RJJ last year,
and now he said the fight is already set up.
Dana is going to lose a champion over a boxing match.
He might as well stop fighters from doing anything else,
basketball, snowboarding, etc...

Right, it would not hurt the sport nearly as much as some may suggest, but Dana is just too greedy to let it happen. He does not want to send ANY fans to boxing at all.
