Folks, Emanuel Newton was +1200 going into tonight's bout against King Mo at Bellator 90. That means if you dropped $18 on him, you would have made like $320,000. Actually I'm not entirely sure if that estimate is true. I passed every math class in high school by copying off my neighbor's paper. Sorry Ms. Walton -- the appeal of playing 'Drug Wars' on my TI-83 was far too strong.
It took only one spinning back fist for Bellator's marketing department to flip over every table in their headquarters tonight. It's not just Russians -- everyone in Bellator is throwing spinning back s***. Although King Mo seems to be picking apart Newton earlier on in the first round, Mo's corner screamed at him to keep his hands up. Mo didn't heed their advice and at 2:33 in the first round, Newton's fist met King Mo's face -- and the fight was over.
If you missed it, check out the .gif below of the finish provided, as always, by ZombieProphet.
Bellator was hoping SO BAD to have King Mo dominate this tournament so they could build him as a dual "sport" athlete with the pro wrestling. They were doing great until they loaded so many eggs in this basket, I wonder how they'll be able to spin this moving forward.
