yes there is! Mafia are generally families with lots of wealth and lots of influence. Enough to be able to get whatever they want, whenever they want.
In England there isnt much of one. The Bristol Mafia, is really just a bunch of professionals who are up themselves. But in Europe, particularly around the Med, there is many Mafia groups. These Groups boarder on Families. and the Western World, rest of Europe, and America are based on the same. So the Fetittas for example will be a family based Mafia with friends and associates...like Dana White for example.
The Oriental and Eastern World is different. In Africa, Asia, and The Orient, the Mafia are basically just gangs which have grown so much they have gone out of control. In Africa, these are usually political gangs, in Russia they are usually ex forces, and in the Orient they are actually wayward martial artists usually. In the West they are involved with Business, and the family itself is full of money thats hard earned. In the East they are usually political or just criminals, and there is no family, so even the head honcho gets his hands dirty. the cash they generate is from stolen goods or drugs. South America is included in the East.
