The 60 lb. weight spread encompassed by the heavyweight division is too large in my opinion. I would like to see the heavyweight division go from 205 lbs. up to 230 lbs. and then have a Super-heavyweight division from 230 lbs. up to 260 lbs. I don't know if there is enough talent at this time to split into two divisions but as the sport grows and the number of heavyweights expands, I think it would make for closer and better fights to split the division. It would make it more competitive for "small" heavyweights like Crocop and Randy Couture so they don't have to face monsters like Brock Lesnar with a 30-40 lb. weight disadvantage.

There are plenty of good fighters the UFC could draw in. I think the UFC should expand, which would/should include its weight classes as well as catch-weight fights. They'd be able to put on one PPV per month and two Fight Nights on Spike per month. Like last nights Fight Night, there should be at least two of those a month. Theres no reason why they don't, their image is def bigger then their fight itinerary right now. |
