A verbal agreement ONLY works in the favor of Dana and the UFC. Just because cro-cop says "this won't be his last fight", that don't mean crap. If he get's handled, Dana will drop him like a bad-habit.

even those things wouldnt screw dana that bad. the ufc is powerful enough now where things like that wouldnt change much. this is why a guy like randy can leave the ufc on bad terms and the company remains strong regardless. and randys fanbase is much bigger than cro cops at least in the u.s.

Well, of course it wouldn't screw Dana that bad,
but if CC gets wrecked and doesn't get another fight, it doesn't really screw CC that bad.

and your Randy comparison doesn't work,
Randy wasn't able to go compete somewhere else, he refused to fight while under contract.

Obviously Cro-Cop wants to fight, so I don't see why he would just not show up...

The bigger point is that Cro-Cop insists that this won't be his last fight, and with nothing in writing, he cannot be promised that. Dana has always shown to be a savvy businessman, and he should know that even if the terms of a specific deal are somewhat loose, you ALWAYS put things in writing. It covers BOTH parties asses in the event of a problem.

If anything, it shows that Dana does not put much stock in Cro-Cop. If he even thought for a second that Mirko could be a money maker for the UFC or ANY org, he would have a contract drawn up so fast that heads would spin.

An IMO that is prob why Fedor will never get the same deal as Cro-Cop just got. I think the only way Dana wants Fedor, is if he can own him. Otherwise he could have the same deal as Cro-Cop.

they offered Fedor a 9 fight deal but it wasn't fighter friendly.
