Lyoto looked slightly sick to his stomach during the announcement of that one

Quote:
Round 1: Referee Leon Roberts is our third man in the cage. Lyoto Machida's first fight at middleweight. And we're off. Munoz whiffs on a lunging right. Machida hanging back, staying patient. Munoz changes levels but Machida sidesteps the shot and lands a kick to the midsection. Munoz eats another kick and circles left. Whoa! Huge head kick floors Munoz! He's out completely. Machida thought about following up, but Munoz was already out. Great sportsmanship there. Super impressive 185 debut.

Lyoto Machida def. Mark Munoz via KO (head kick) at 3:10 of round one.

Thanks for posting this, Ben. I didn't even realize it was UFN today! Of course, that's all academic as I was away from the computer until early this evening...

Dang, I miss everything.

I didn't realize there were fights tonight either. Thanks for posting, Ben, so we could at least see the results. I would have liked to have seen Machida/Munoz also.

Glad I'm not the only one who didn't realize there was UFC on.

Tyburn won the predictions.

and he was the only one participating...

sorry Dave, couldn't resist ;-)

So much respect to Machida for what he did after the head kick.

Absolutely. He reared up for the punch to motivate the ref to jump in, but he had no intention of hitting his friend again. Absolute class act.

i don't know man .. to me the first knee looked clean and the second knee he was midway throwing it when pearson put his hand down ... they'll fight again .. but i think guillard should fight someone else while pearson recovers from that nasty cut

as for the lyoto fight ... i won't say munoz took a dive, but i think these guys being buddies and training partners at one point, i think mark knew he was out of his league and took as little punishment as possible .. but hey, thats just my opinion ..

Awesome, TY Ben! I hadn't seen it and now I see what you guys were talking about when you said Machida showed a lot of class to hold back on that punch...
