Thales Leites vs. Tom Watson

Round 1:
Herb Dean is our referee for this middleweight pay-per-view bout. No touch of gloves here. Leites blocks a high kick then fires back with a combination, forcing Watson against the fence. Leites quickly takes Watson's back and trips him to the canvas. Leites sinks in one hook, then the second, and starts hunting for a rear-naked choke. He might have it. Watson valiantly fights it off. Leites switches to a body triangle and starts pummeling Watson's face with rights and lefts. Watson snatches wrist control but gets blasted with more rights for his effort. Watson tries to climb to his feet, but Leites is having none of it. Watson tries again, but Leites catches the Brit and flattens him out. Watson finally squirms free. He's bloodied and tired, but he's still in this. Watson stalks forward with a flurry, then finds a home for a few leg kicks.

Round 2:
A massive cut is dribbled blood down Watson's left eye. Leites pumps his jab then misses with a looping right. Watson eats a slew of straight punches and fires off a counter. Leites closes the distance, dumps Watson on his back then instantly advances into side control. Watson recovers his half guard. Leites hunts for an arm triangle, so Watson gives up his back then powers to his feet. Leites is still attached though, and it isn't long before he retakes Watson's back. Watson muscles into top position, but Leites slickly switches to an armbar. Wow, that was close but Watson powered out of it. We're back on our feet. Watson mixing leg kicks with short shots from the clinch. Leites connects with a one-two, but Watson eats it and counters with an uppercut. Both men are absolutely exhausted. This is a brawl.

Round 3:
Leites immediately thunders forward winging big punches. Blood erupts from the right eye of Watson. Leites works against the fence, dropping down for a double. He can't get it. This is a bloody mess. Dean warns Watson for holding onto the fence. Leites looking for a trip but Watson defends. Watson charges inside. Leites changes levels for a single and finishes it, advancing right into mount. Watson gives up his back and climbs to his feet, but only briefly. Leites still has his back. Leites sinks in one hook, and there's the other hook. Watson tries to scramble out, but Leites uses the opportunity to seize an arm triangle. Watson is staying alive, but this is a bad, bad spot. Somehow, he survives to the horn.

UFC 162 results: Thales Leites def. Tom Watson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Machida blocks a superman punch, then fires off a left high kick. Neither fighter really willing to engage. Big overhand right finds a home for Davis. Machida pushes Davis back with a front kick. Davis responds with a high kick. Machida explodes forward with a salvo of punches that drop Davis to a knee! Davis recovers and shoots for a power double. He gets it, advancing right into half guard. Davis hunting for a kimura but Machida defends. Davis unloads a few shots to the body as the horn sounds. Slow round, but Machida wins it with his flurry.

Round 2:

Davis tries again, and again it's stuffed. Davis eats a straight left. Machida finds a home for his right hand, but Davis uses the moment to drag him to the mat and unload punches from the top. Another close round.

Round 3:
Machida slips a shot then fires off a counter right. Davis is starting to open up, but he's hitting nothing but air. Machida shakes off a half-hearted double leg attempt. Machida catches Davis coming in, lands a knee to his midsection, then takes Davis' back. Davis powers to his feet and disengages. Davis makes Machida chase him. Machida connects with a big left hand. Davis changes levels but is resoundingly stuffed. Machida's takedown defense is absurd. Davis lunges inside with a superman punch. Davis drops down for another double leg attempt, but again Machida stays on his feet. One last exchange ends the round. Another close one, folks.

UFC 163 results: Phil Davis def. Lyoto Machida via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Jose Aldo vs. Korean Zombie

Round 1:
Referee Herb Dean oversees this UFC featherweight championship clash. A touch of gloves and we're off. Jung pushes forward with his jab. Jung wades inside with a flurry. Aldo evades, then lunges in with a left hook. Jung answers with a right. Nothing landing flush so far. Oh, just as I write that, Aldo cracks Jung with a looping right hook. Jung ducks under another shot and fires off a counter. Jung misses a high kick wildly. Aldo unloads a low kick to Jung's lead leg. And another. Jung responds with one of his own. Thirty seconds left. Aldo changes levels for a single and dumps Jung on his back. Jung scrambles to his feet. Huge spinning wheel kick nearly lands flush for Aldo. Wild exchange closes out the round.

Round 2:
Jung pressures forward then wings out a front kick. Jung storms inside again. This time Aldo cracks him on the way in. Aldo catches Jung with a stiff jab. Aldo scores a few more shots from the clinch, then follows it up with a big body-body-head combination. Aldo scoring that jab at will. Jung misses with a looping right. Aldo fires back. Aldo staggers Jung with a jab. Jung pushes Aldo back with a straight right of his own. Aldo closes the distance and beasts Jung to the mat, advancing into side control. Jung recovers his guard then ties up. Aldo content to ride out the rest of the round.

Round 3:
Jung charges inside. Aldo backpedals and creates some distance. Aldo catches Jung midair during a flying knee attempt then powerbombs him onto the canvas. Jung saddles up against the fence. Jung lands a few grazing punches from the bottom then works to his feet. Aldo drops down for a double leg, then hunts for an outside trip. Jung defends, but this is still far from an ideal situation. Dean asks for action. Dean asks again. And there's the stand-up. Jung opens up with a flurry. Aldo eats a few shots then muscles Jung against the cage. Jung briefly grasps for a front headlock but he can't get it. Dean once again asks for action. Aldo seems content to just sit on this single leg attempt. Dean splits up the action. Huge flying knee attempt sends Jung toppling OVER Aldo. Wow. Aldo ends the round with his back on the mat.

Round 4:
We're in the championship rounds. Aldo's corner doesn't want their fighter to keep going to takedowns. Aldo misses wildly with a hook. Neither fighter really mixing together combinations, both relying on single shots. Jung connects with an overhand right. Uh-oh. It looks like Jung's right shoulder separated out of its socket. Jung desperately tries to pop it back it. Aldo sees the opening and starts bombarding the shoulder with high kicks. Jung drops and Aldo swarms. Jung is clutching onto his shoulder while Aldo unleashes a salvo. That's it. Jose Aldo defends his UFC featherweight title.

UFC 163 results: Jose Aldo def. Chan Sung Jung via TKO (strikes) at 2:00 of round four.
