Default UFC 162 *SPOILERS*

Here we go! Looks like it's just me and you, Bonnie...

Mike Pierce vs. David Mitchell

Round 1:
Steve Mazzagatti is the referee for this one. A Mike Pierce-like start to the fight as he pushes Mitchell against the fence and holds him there. Crowd starts jeering after about a minute of this. The come off the fence but maintain the clinch. Finally they break. Pierce lands a left and again rushes Mitchell into the fence. Mitchell escapes and lands a two-punch combo before Pierce ties him up again. Two minutes left. Mitchell lands a few knees in the clinch, including one to the head. The pace picks up for a bit in the final minute as they trade punches before Pierce bodylocks him against the fence.

Round 2:
More of the same in the opening minute, as Pierce controls Mitchell along the fence, but can't get him to the mat. Mitchell circles out to center octagon and lands a couple punches before they clinch again. Mitchell landing knees from that position. And just like, that, a surprise finish. After Pierce again pushes Mitchell along the fence, he suddenly pulls back tags Mitchell with a left on the button, then lands several hammer fists on the downed Mitchell to end the fight.

Mike Pierce def. David Mitchell via TKO at 2:51 of round two.

Once again, The Maz hung out & waited before stopping the fight. Mitchell got like an extra 4 fists to the dome before Steve finally did his jump.

Word.

I was actually surprised to see him but I guess Dana doesn't have much control over who is reffing.

Whoa, Melancon is for real!! We're gonna see a lot more of this guy, wow!

Seth Baczynski vs. Brian Melancon

Round 1:
Yves Levigne is the referee. Melancon snaps a low kick and connects with a left hand. He follows with a left hand to the body. Melancon again connects with a left to the jaw of the taller Baczynski. Baczynski's finally firing back. Melancon blocks a Baczynski high kick. Melancon drops Baczynski with a left to the jaw. Can't put him away, though, as Baczynski keeps his legs moving on the ground. Back standing. Baczynaksi connects on a counter left to the jaw. Melancon shoots a single and gets the takedown. Melancon can't get much done from that position, but in the closing seconds, he rushes in and lands a series of shots, including a huge left to the jaw which puts Baczynski out.

Brian Melancon def. Seth Maczynski via KO at 4:59 of round one.

the refs for tonight are Herb Dean (yay), but then Yves Lavigne, Maz & Kim Winslow. Pretty much a giant "Eff you, Dana." from the NSAC.

That dude is a boss! He better start expanding his striking, though, or else his opponents will all just circle left & neutralize him. Can't wait to see how he progresses!

Edson Barboza vs. Rafaello Oliveira

Round 1:
Herb Dean's the referee for this lightweight bout. Oliveira trying to dart in and out early. Barboza greets him with leg kicks, and connects with a solid kick to the body. Barboza sprawls Oliveira's first two takedown attempts. Such efficient kicking by Barboza. He hands a spinning back kick to the midsection. Another failed takedown attempt by Oliveira. Two minutes left. Barboza keeps moving every time Oliveira tries to close the distance. One minute left. Oliveira must be beyond frustrated by this point. Oliveira noticeably limping after Barboza lands a wicked leg kick. Barboza grazes Oilveira with a spinning back kick to the head near the horn. An inch closer and Oliveira would have been looking up at the lights.

Round 2:
Frantic action early as Barboza drops Oliveira, then Oliveira gets up and returns the favor. Oliveira hits the mat after Barboza drops him with a leg kick. Barboza is content to keep it standing. Barboza lands two more kicks to the inside of Oliveira's knee, he hits the mat again, and Dean waves it off. Looks like a blown out knee for Oliveira.

Edson Barboza def. Rafaello Oliveira via TKO at 1:44 of round two.

I was flinching at the end every time Barboza kicked Oliveira's left leg! I don't understand why Oliveira was moving to the left at the end and why he didn't switch up legs?
