My dad was born and raised Catholic and he broke from the Catholic Church and became a Baptist after he got saved in his teen years. It was the same with his mom, she was excommunicated from the Catholic Church after getting born-again. As a result, most of my knowledge of Catholic beliefs come from my father. However, it's possible that there are many differences in Hispanic Catholicism compared to European Catholicism or American Catholicism. So, I try not to get dogmatic about the whole denomination thing anymore. I also never said that all Roman Catholics were a cult, I meant to imply that the group of Roman Catholics who worship the Pope like he's a god are a cult. Just like the little cult that seems to be rising up around the 1611 King James translation of the Bible in the Protestant and Baptist denominations. It's an aberrant belief that doesn't represent the beliefs of the entire denomination. Obviously my wording for the Pope comment was poor and certain people took offense to that and I apologize for the misunderstanding. Finally, I don't consider all Roman Catholics to be non-Christians. I might have in the past, but I would have been wrong. I'm sure most of them aren't true Christians, but that could be said of just about any denomination. I've heard that as many as 80% of all professing Christians in the world are actually false believers. I personally wouldn't be surprised if that number wasn't much higher (more like 90-95%).

I did, and there are so many possible jokes there, but I think I will refrain from posting them.

Francis has made some changes already.
He has decided to go back to using the Pope-Mobile that has an open top. The little cart that takes the Pope through the people gathered in Saint Peters Square, or on tour within crowds, was changed into a bulletproof version after a failed assassination on Pope John-Paul II, it was also used through Benedict XVI Pontificate....It not a matter of security for Francis...its because he likes to stop the cart and get out to personally greet people, and this isnt easy with a bulletproof dome over your head He has also said that one of the main Passiontide masses, will no longer be held at the Vatican, in Saint Peters Basilica. Francis has decided, instead, that he would like to conduct the mass in a Roman Juvinile Detention Centre Finally...linking with this thread especially....Francis today had his first Audiences...His FIRST Meeting with anyone after his inaugeration (he met the argentinian head of state between ellection and inaugeration) Was with none other then The Patriarch of Constantinople His Second meeting was with the Patriarch of Moscow...one presumes, that would be a modern day invention of the Russian Orthodox. Interesting that his choices for meeting the first representatives of the Orthodox, are both shallow in history....I dont think he cares much about Church History...or else he would surely have met the Patriarch of Antioch, and the Patriarch of Jerusalem instead

To the best of my knowledge, the guys who are walking up from the Vatican Grotto where all the old popes are burried, are the equivilent of other Roman Catholic "popes" of other areas...that is to say, with the exception of the Greek and Roman Orthodox Church...these are the currently ellected Pontifs of original lines dating all the way back to the Apostolic Foundations of some of the Churches in the list I presented earlier in the thread.
I counted Five in the first twenty five seconds based on the Grotto What may or may not be a further two at 3.02 at the doors of St Peters Basilica http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKOAKwPpGag The music is nearly...but not quite, as bad as the Litaniae Sanctorum...and amoung the same lines, a large amount of it is dedicated to listing the name of saints...and rather then asking them to pray (in the Litaniae Sanctorum) it asks them to Praise the Reign...presumably of GOD...or maybe, the new Pope...not quite sure, because I dont recognise the Latin phrase I think...though I could be wrong, its a form of The Imperial Acclimations, Something the Church stole and modified from the Acclimations for Emporars. This was a chant that solidified The Emporar of Rome as Having the Divine Right of Kingship. I dont know who the Pagens would invoke for that, but Post Constentine, the list of names would be the Great Rullers of the time before...like I said, thats a guess...its not a phrase I recognise...but then I didnt recognise the phrases used in the Sacramentum at the start of the Conclave either. My Latin is limited to Liturgy...I can only make out words in Literny, and have no idea of normal speech or sentances at all...The Exceptions to that are the Litaniae Sanctorum, the Angelus, and The Requiem...I dont even understand or recognise the Regina Coeli I wanted to learn it...but my School wouldnt teach it
