Matt Riddle was busted for marijuana for the second time and is now cut from the UFC

That's right folks, according to a report on MMAJunkie, following his split-decision win over Che Mills, Matt Riddle has been cut from the UFC for testing positive for marijuana in his post-fight drug test after his bout in UFC on FUEL TV 7. Although Riddle is actually a licensed medical marijuana patient, his UFC career has been severed for medicating himself as advised by a medical physician. Damn.

If only marijuana was spelled 'TRT' then we wouldn't even have to write this article. Look on the bright side, at least we can finally see Kevin Randleman vs. Matt Riddle.

i don't know whats to complain about ... if you know doing marijuana can get you in trouble, you should probably stay away from it ...

However, how do they justify keeping someone who has been busted for PED's twice then? Could that not be viewed as condoning the PED use?

Thiago Silva got caught once for failing a urine test because it wasn't human urine. The other was for marijuana. I'm sure he is on his last chance now.

i don't think it condones it ... the way i see it, don't give any reason to dana to get yourself cut .. regardless of whether these guys are getting an advantage from the weed, they know its against the rules and they are trying to get away with it ... so if you get caught, you can't blame anyone but yourself ....

Looked it up and yeah technically Silva won 1 of his last 6 but he won 3 of his last 6. other two were overturned because of pot and falsified urine. Just saying....makes it look a lil different

Correct..........Look at Nick Diaz for example. GREAT fighter IMO but not very stable or smart between the ears. Wonder if he woul be different if he didn't smoke marijuana all the time?

I cant believe that anyone caught cheating manages to keep their job...The UFC once again show favour to some and distates for others.

However, I personally wont shed a tear for Matt Riddle. I dont like him, and he made it perfectly clear that he doesnt like me neither. He's rude and personally whilst I cant condone the fact the UFC doesnt play fair with its dismissal procedures and its employees...I can say that I think it serves him right.

IMHO if you are caught cheating then it should be Gross misconduct, and you should be dismissed, unless you of course are innocent and want to fight your cause via an appeal at disciplinary level al la Sean Sherk...who...incidently seems to have dropped off the face of the earth...has he died or something...I've not heard anything about him in...YEARS??

I also dont believe in medical warrents for illegal drugs. Particularly as that drug is a pain medication, and there are more effective pain medications now which are not illegal.

I do however know that I am highly allergic to that plant...and the fumes are toxic When I was in my first year of University about 12 years ago, for a time we had this guy stay on our corridor in halls. His room was practically blue, he just inhaled the smoke non stop, it was like some kinda incence was burning....I lived in the room opposite him...and I began to break out in hives....We got him ejected from halls after about two weeks...and as soon as he had gone and the room was ventilated...the hives dissapeared.

Whilst I have never come into contact with the plant in its natural form, I imagine that physical contact would probably result in the same form of allergic reaction.

I have a similar reaction to the skin of peaches...just the skin...not the flesh...and thats FAR more extreme, but far quicker in its correction.

I personally know Matt from home, we grew up in the same area and he is a good person and would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it......You don't need to get all up in your feelings all the time because a fighter doesn't want to have a romance over the computer via. facebook or any internet social site. Don't take things personally all the time.

He screwed up, didn't learn his lesson the first time, now he lost his job. Serves him right. He was given a second chance and failed.
Again, the decision is up to the UFC and nobody else. If they can make money off of known fighters they will keep them no matter how many times they mess up, that's been proven. If you are an unknown, you are gone.
