What book are you currently reading ?

Those are among my all-time favorite books, Adam. I totally agree with RNC, start with The Hobbit and if they enjoy it (they will!!!) you can go on with the trilogy. They are wonderful, timeless books. I've read them many times over.

I have The Silmarillion but could never get into it.

Flo! You gotta read Cold Mountain. And yes. I loved this book. I read the first three chapters twice. He mentions some of this old Indians beliefs and I found them interesting. Some of the beliefs that he mentions where shared by my great-grandmother. She was an American Indian named White Lily.

ex. She believed that someone taking your picture would suck out some of your soul.

She believed in telling stories to kids, not reading them. (He expounds more on that in the book.)
