I would rather see Silva/Jones then GSP/Silva personally...I also think GSP isnt out of the woods yet...I do feel that we still need to watch him for his next couple of fights to see if he's going to remain tyhe force he was before his injury forced sabatical so to speak...the third round should really frighten him...im sure it will bring great joy to Hendricks who no doubt now absolutely believes he could finish GSP, on the feet, like he did with kampmann

Either way, if GSP had actually finished the fight then I might make an effort to watch it. However, it's seems like GSP possesses neither the will nor the skillset to finish fights anymore. So, I think I'll pass on watching this one.

One of the things that makes me root against GSP is how condescending and rude GSP's fans always act after one of his victories. GSP may not be a sore winner, but his fans sure are.

man carlos is a beast ... and gsp solidified himself as one of the greatest ever ..... cant argue with 7 title defences in a row .... cant argue with being ufc's biggest draw either .. sure, some are goin to say he is boring .. everyone has their opinion ... last nite he got fotn with carlos .. enough said

I thought it was a great fight. At no point in the 5-rounds was I bored with the action. Georges didn't finish but he was always active on top. He didn't just hold position, he worked for more the entire time and Carlos was working just as hard.

I want to see both! And there is a good chance we will see both. This is a major opportunity for two superfights, but the GSP/Silva fight has to happen first. If Silva fought Jones first and won there would be no point in dropping all that weight to beat GSP.

Yes its the association...perception becomes reality. Was GSP boring last night, no he was not, BUT there are many people now so used to hearing the words GSP and Decision and in their minds through very good reasons, they dont want to spend the money, or make (what can be) quite a time consuming effort to watch the fights before they vanish off line.

I think I would say that GSP was unusually exciting last night, but he still failed to finish, and still had a bad third round where, were it not for his experience, he could have lost all together. IF he fights like that from now on, he might start to finish lesser calibres...but I can FULLY understand your lack of enthusiasm over it, and I think you have very good reasons to feel that way.

We must also remember that Condit took the unpopular decision to wait, and for quite a long time, long enough that he might also have had ring rust yesterday.

But judging on that fight, and GSPs history...Anderson Silva would win with little to no problem. I would be suprised if the weight change adds as much difference as some people believe...I also happen to think that every single time GSP goes for a Silva takedown he will face a huge possibility of getting stopped by a wayward knee or kick...I dont see him fairing well in the clinch against Silva, I think on the ground he might be good at holding position, but he can bearly finish on the ground these days. Submission specialists do stand a good chance if they can get Silva down, but most of them cant...and I think its about time we distinguish here between a wrestler who cant finish on the ground and a wrestler who can. I would see Silva netralizing GSP on the ground with defense so much they would be stood up, because what Silva ought to think about is not so much preventing a take-down here, at least not in terms of sprawl, but to carry on a counter strikers approach to it, but to consider that if he's taken down, he must stop GSP looking busy. On the feet, in terms of pure skill GSP might, might be better...but I have yet to see any good striker fair remotely well against a his callibre in counter striking, it is that good.

BUT Jones/Silva...well...I think that one is still debatable...The instution are possibly trying to oust someone...They have had trouble with both Anderson Silva AND Georges Saint Pierre...they may feel that this big draw will be worth the demise of one or other due to the money, and the money in the aftermath...people are tiered of the same people at the top, I reckon, in truth, the UFC might also be. if worst comes to worst, its the best of three isnt it, imagine the drama that will create

I think they are quite on Jones because they feel he could yet go far, and because he has had some..erm...negative press outside their organisation.

See...im unsure if this is supposed to be a cross-weight title unification...and if so who is going to contest who? Does Silva drop to WW...or does GSP move up?

IF it is, we must also remember that when there is THAT much to looose GSP is likely to take steps which constitute open fouls towards retaining. We saw that when they tried this once before with Lightweight and Welterweight.

I had thought it was going to be a Catchweight fight, which would render it non-title of course, but it would certainly damage either who lost...infact, possibly worse...it would allow the inistution to continue with title defences AND the best of Three, so as not to keep contenders waiting AND if one or both champions lost their belts, the Catchweight saga would still be applicable to continue.

I dont think the UFC even know...and IMHO they have to be careful, this year has implications for them which if they fail to review could spell a drop off. They havent learned Quality beats Quantity, they may be unaware of the fact many forums can not keep up, and the inability to discuss is causing people to fall away in droves, they may be unaware that their expanse into other nations is detrimental because they are in denial about just how global they are in truth. They are NOT mainstream in the UK...infact its harder to watch them now then it was three years ago!!! so moving into China...well...you havent satisfied your old markets yet....I know and have spoken to so many who appear to be abandoning the sport also due to nothing but rematches following draws, nothing but injuries delaying the anticipated fights, very weak and poor international cards, and horiffic judging errors. I know that if they dont quit TUF all together, by the end of next year it will be actually undoing all the good it did originally.

It will be catchweight, I would guess as low as 178. I think a fight like this would be great for the sport, especially if it is here in the US.

I don't blame the UK and fans not in North or South America for losing interest. You are loyal fans who get rewarded with cards with no star power when you actually get an event.
