Not to steal your thread, but here is a pic from the Syracuse/San Diego St game today. For the most part it was good weather, got a little windy in the 2nd half!

You know that kinda reads like someone went "Wee-wee two rows up in the corner next to the FOX Sports camera guy."

November has been a good month for VCU at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. Their last loss in the month came back in 2002. The Rams welcomed a familiar team in Wichita State to the Stu. This marked the third season in a row that VCU has played the Shockers from the Missouri Valley Conference. The night started off slow as both teams struggled from the field but the crowd could only stand and watch at the end as WSU hit a 19 foot jumper with 3.8 seconds left to win it for the Shockers, 53-51. Junior Juvonte Reddic had a chance to tie it up at the line for the Rams but couldn’t connect on the free throws.

This Wichita State team may have seen a lot of turnover in the off season but the Shockers looked to match up well against VCU’s havoc defense, beating the full court pressure most of the time.

Reddic was huge for the Rams tonight, leading all Rams with 22 points. Reddic was also big on the glass tonight with 10 rebounds.

VCU got a taste of their own medicine offensively in the first half. The Shockers outshot the Rams 35% to 30%. Defensively, the Rams experienced 14 turnovers while forcing 13 from WSU in the game.

Last week the Rams had 30 plus points off turnovers against Florida Gulf Coast, tonight against the Shockers, just 9. Free throws also proved to be critical for the Rams only connecting on 12 of 24.

The Rams will travel down to North Carolina on Saturday to play Winthrop.
Rough loss. Really sloppy play.

This one might have been over with the final horn of the last game, as the Winthrop Eagles ran into an angry group of Rams in a 90-54 Saturday matinee beatdown in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The black and gold jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead, then after a hot second half start by the Eagles that saw the lead cut to 13, hit the extra gear once more, throttling Winthrop in the second half and picking up the Rams first road victory of the season.

VCU got back on track in several statistical categories, upping their 50% free throw mark from last game to 85% today, hitting an impressive 17-20 from the stripe in the win.

The Rams also got their havoc machine cranked up once more, forcing 21 Winthrop turnovers, getting a deep 34 bench points and hit 52% of their 25 three-point attempts.

Juvonte Reddic once again lead the Rams in scoring, posting 17 points and a team high seven rebounds in the win. Reddic was one of five Rams in double digits, a list that includes sophomores Briante Weber and Treveon Graham with 14 a piece, Troy Daniels back from injury with 11 on 3-4 shooting from long range, and newcomer Melvin Johnson who posted 12 points while going 2-3 from long range, his first double digit performance in just the third game of his career.

Darius Theus just missed that group with nine points of his own, but dropped a game-high seven assists in the win.

VCU jumped out to 22-point first half lead after being up by as many as 26. The Eagles bounced back however by hitting six of their first 10 shots, including four deep balls in the first six minutes of the second half.

Winthrop kept things within a 14-point reach with 11:30 left to play, but then saw the Rams go on a 30-8 run to end the game.

VCU moves to 2-1 on the season heading into a stacked Battle 4 Atlantis Thanksgiving weekend tournament.

The Rams will get an opening round challenge in 17th-ranked Memphis at 7PM on Thanksgiving night, followed by a second round battle against either Minnesota or the 6th-ranked Duke Blue Devils.

Depending on how things play out, VCU will play one of the four teams on the other side of the bracket, a group that includes Louisville, Northern Iowa, Missouri and Stanford.

All of those games will be available for viewing on the NBC Sports Network.
