Default Miesha Tate signs with UFC; joins Ronda Rousey in newly-created women's division

From MMAFighting.com:

Less than 24 hours after Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey announced her addition to the ranks of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), former division titleholder Miesha Tate brought word that she will join her "Rowdy" rival under the ZUFFA banner.

This division is stacked!

Well, not really, but Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is off to a damn good start, considering the first two additions to its newly-formed women's division includes reigning Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey and former 135-pound titleholder Miesha Tate.

Can Cris Cyborg be far behind?

Rousey made the startling announcement yesterday (Nov. 8, 2012) regarding her future under the banner of ZUFFA, the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.

It's no secret that UFC President Dana White has been a "Rowdy" supporter of the former Olympic gold medalist (Judo) and she's probably the main reason why the ladies will find a home inside the Octagon following the demise of Strikeforce, which is expected to come in the wake of its Jan. 12 Showtime event in Oklahoma.
More on that here.

Tate (13-3), by her own admission, is in no hurry to secure a Rousey rematch following her most recent performance back in August. Her first go-round with the undefeated queenpin not only cost her the division title, but also the use of her arm.

Ouch.

Despite a successful return to the win column in a gritty performance against Julie Kedzie, "Cupcake" declared a hiatus from the sport, citing lack of passion. Perhaps a second run, this time under the UFC umbrella, will be enough to re-ignite the fire?

Time will tell.
