The Obama Re-election campaign has filed a lawsuit to overturn a law that gives members of the military a few extra days to vote early. Men and women in the military sacrifice dearly for our country and they deserve and have the lawful and constitutional right to additional consideration.

Stand with the U.S. military. The ACLJ will file an amicus brief backing the Ohio law - giving our military men and women an opportunity to cast their ballots in a constitutional manner. Add your name to our brief defending the voting rights of the U.S. military today.

This challenge by the Obama Re-election Campaign is not only unconstitutional, but it is also offensive to millions of Americans. Our military heroes deserve to have this lawful courtesy extended to them - not more roadblocks making it even more difficult for them to participate in the election.

The military tends to vote very conservatively and obviously they are not going to be fans of Obama (especially not after his blanket repeal of DADT); so this is clearly a ploy of an apparently desperate Obama campaign to restrict the right to vote for many members of our Armed Forces. Despicable.

They are despicable. They fight the states that want to require IDs for voters to ensure actual citizens are voting, yet they want to make it harder for our military to have every chance to vote. This is just the latest in a long line of dirty deeds. They are pulling out all the stops in order to get him re-elected, and they don't care how they do it.

Their DoJ and the IRS are targeting big Romney donors and Harry Reid has rung in a new era of McCarthyism on the Senate floor. Meanwhile, the administration deals with the slight increase in unemployment last month by using decimal points and the campaigner-in-chief is playing as much golf as possible.

November 6th can't come soon enough to get this incompetent and unethical boob out of office before we're completely sunk.

Where do you see that at? Everyone in this country already has access to early voting. The military just gets more time because of the nature of their job.

from the video on the website .. it is confusing ... but it sounds to me like the military gets to start voting on the friday before an election and the obama camp has said they want everyone in the state to have access to vote on the friday before the election, at least that is what it sounds like ..

Finally, while the Obama re-election campaign is claiming to the media that he wants to extend voting to everyone for the three-day period preceding the election, this lawsuit is unlikely to accomplish that. If the court were to accept his legal argument that military voters deserve no special treatment under the law, the court would be faced with two options: rewrite the statute that cuts off early absentee voting at the Friday before Election Day or strike down the statute that providers three extra days for military personnel.

If the court believes Obama’s argument that military personnel deserve no special treatment, the court is far more likely to strike down the statute granting that right than it is to rewrite an entirely separate statute. Courts do not write statutes; the legislature does.

Brilliant strategy.

But only one motive seems to make sense. Why would you try to change the whole ballgame? Look how much money and time that would take. Why would John Q. Public need more time to vote?

could be ... neither of the speakers on the video talked about that ... but hey, what do i know ... just going off the video ...

there are plenty of jobs that people have which requires them to be out of the country and any given time .. up here we have advance polls that we can vote at for our elections for people who are going to be away during the time of the voting ... everyone has access to that ..

I am in favor of giving our military extra early time to make sure their votes are counted. But the BO administration isn't challenging that, they want to extend the 3 extra days to all Ohioans, as democrats benefit from absentee and early voting (as the article states). Here is a link that is pretty fair in explaining both sides.

rnc is right and I should have read more about the topic. But I don't take back a single word on Obama and his DoJ. They have challenged voter ID laws in several states. Holder recently made the outrageous statement that the Texas voter ID law is a poll tax ( I've posted 2 links, one from each side of the political spectrum). Shame on them. They have hit a new low with the super pac ad touting Romney as being responsible for someone's death, an ad so chock full of outright lies that even the left is calling it despicable. I think they will say and do anything to retain power.
