Well Avengers just reached #3 on both the Domestic and Worldwide charts for all-time ticket sales.
It's at just under $553 million on the domestic charts, pushing it about $20 million past The Dark Knight ($533 million). The only two movies above Avengers are Avatar ($760.5 million) and Titanic ($658.6 million). For worldwide ticket sales, Avengers is just under $1.36 billion, which puts it ahead of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 by over $20 million. Again, the only two movies that are above Avengers on the worldwide charts are Avatar ($2.78 billion) and Titanic ($2.18 billion). I know it's highly unlikely, but how cool would it be for any movie to finally break James Cameron's 15 year deadlock on the #1 highest grossing film of all time? Considering that Avengers was only released in the US one month ago today, I think it's safe to say that it's crossed over from blockbuster movie into worldwide phenomenon at this point.

Yep, the 3D rereleases are included in those totals. So, technically, Titanic is still making money as we speak.

Agreed. I'm planning to throw at least $10 at Avengers before it leaves theaters to try & help out!

I'm planning to go see it at least one more time while it's in theaters. So far, I'm up to three viewings.
