Alright, fine ... sadly, I did
I honestly thought the stupid movie was already out as my friend just handed it to me. Still doesn't make it right. Poor witness. I do stand by my reasoning that it was just an "ok" film.

Nate - I'll just answer this - the Hulk DOES steal the show. Best character among them.

Seriously this is the best the Hulk has ever looked onscreen, it's definitely the closest to Jack Kirby's original intepretations: ![]() ![]() And seeing images like this one have got me super pumped to see this movie:

Hawkeye stole the show for me. Personally I think Ed Norton would have been better than Mark Ruffalo, but he still did a good job.

Just got back from watching it and it was definitely an awesome movie. As someone who grew up reading about these characters in comic books, this is exactly the kind of superhero movie I've always wanted to see made. Lots of action, lots of humor, not overly burdened with character development = perfect superhero film.
It also really helped that all of the set up for main characters had already been taken care of in their respective films, so no time needed to be wasted introducing them to the audience. Besides nobody's going to go into The Avengers not knowing who Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America are and I'm glad the director realized that and didn't feel the need to reintroduce them all to the audience. Hulk did not disappoint (except I was kind of hoping that he would speak). I actually really liked Hawkeye as well and I'm not a fan of Hawkeye's character in the comic books at all. Can't wait for Avengers 2! (Don't forget to stay through the end credits to get a hint at what that might be about.)

Well put.
I love that these characters have been around so long but are still right up to date and we're getting really cool movies about them. Thats also one of the reason I enjoy Marvel v Capcom so much - its cool looking at the character bios and seeing First appearance: 1968 - X-Men #34, etc. I want to make an Avengers team in UMVC3 but they are all quite awkward characters to play as.

I've been thinking about this comment ever since you first posted it and, now that I've seen the movie, I can say that I couldn't agree more. But I don't mean that in a bad way at all. This movie's childishness is exactly what makes it great.
When you look at this entire Avengers franchise as a whole, I think it's a filmmaking accomplishment right up there with Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

NateR, you & I must have been watching the movie at about the same time last night! Man, it was awesome! It was the best movie-going experience I can remember because I was part of a highly appreciative packed house. So much fun. Hoping to con my dad into taking tonight when he takes my little brother.
