God's creatures are precious in His sight. He created each for its own purpose.

Bobcat meat is not an acceptable/plausible premise for killing it, so if killing an animal for the sake of killing it for sport makes it a sadistic act.

Am I wrong?

Population control. People have been hunting bobcats for much longer than you probably imagine. Hunters respect the beast, they honor the animals, and they limit what they take. Matt does wander the countryside shooting the cutest animals that cross his path.
Bobcats were controlled for many years due to overpopulation and the damage they were doing. hunters know more about ecology and caring for the land more than most of the city kid/hipsters ripping into Matt on Twitter.
I bet you 90% of them litter.

There are overpopulations of deer in Pennsylvania, but no bobcats?

My point is if there are so many deer, why would we want to kill a natural predator of the deer?

I used to hunt, though, and my brother still does. I say live and let live although I really prefer to see subsistance hunting rather than trophy hunting. Bobcats used to be quite plentiful here in the northwest but their numbers have dwindled due to habitat loss and hunting.

Good point flo. Bobcats keep other species like rabbits and deer in check. They shouldn't be hunted unless they are a menace and even then I'd favor relocation than straight up killing them. We could at least use them somewhere else. These are creatures of God designed with a purpose. That purpose is NOT to be a stuffed head over someone's mantle.

bobcats have been hunted plenty, but they still have a strong population ... i wouldn't worry about it too much .. hunters (real hunters, not poachers) are some of the best conservationists .. and you can bet if the bobcat numbers were low, they wouldn't be taken ..

I believe it is Matt's constitutional right to hunt and he is doing it legally so why the questions? That is his private business. He does not need to explain to anyone. You don't agree?
