What's your favorite western movie?

All of those named so far are good ones. There are so many good ones that I love it's impossible to name just one! Just about every John Wayne and Clint Eastwood one. Just some that I like with John Wayne...The Sons of Katie Elder, McLintock, Chisum, The Quiet Man...okay that last one isn't a western.

I can't say that I have seen many Westerns, does "Aliens and Cowboys" count?

I'd have to say I like the oldies with clint or the duke

but i like bonanza, gunsmoke, rawhide tv shows, i don't know if that counts

it's hard to beat clint though, I know unforgiven is a pretty popular movie but I kinda think it's lacking, yet overreaching. I much prefer pale rider, or outlaw josey wales, or high plains drifter

then again I think back to john waynes movies and they are totally different yet equal in many ways.... true grit, the man who shot liberty valance.... then he kinda got into the army movies.... which is great cause green berets was the first movie of the greatest actor of all time ...........

Wow, I almost forgot what the real greatest western tv show of all time was....





but I don't think you could call it a western....

so I will have to go with the modern magnificent seven as the greatest modern western tv show/miniseries



but the music made that show and the fact that i was a 15 year old kid at the time probably taints my memory of it too.....

and now that reminds me of the old magnificent seven movie, which wasn't too bad either
