The guy was a champion and gave up his title to pursue other things. He never defended the title. It doesn't matter that it's acting. It's outside the course of fighting entirely. So how can one be dedicated to something if they do that?
I would say the same about an elected official. What if someone won an election and then immediately stepped down in order to pursue acting or a career as a professional baseball player, etc. Doesn't matter what if it is outside of their elected job. I would say they weren't dedicated to their elected job either.
There are fighters and then there are fighters who are dedicated.
If he took time off to pursue MMA Legalization in states, unified rules, something that had to do with the sport, then his dedication, in my view, would not be lessened.
