Funny, I was telling my friend he should reach across the head and crank it and he'll give up. Didn't know the name, but you could tell that unless he was BJ Penn flexible, it would torque the crap out of his body or at least crank the mandible hard for a tap.

Yeah, he deserved sub of the night, that was unique! And very effective.

That was a good fight although I was hoping Leonard would get the win.

It looked alot like what we used to call a cross body guillotine in wrestling. Except we could only grab the head with one arm.

That was a sweet submission. I was talking about it at work yesterday.

that's exactly what it was .. it is a legal move in wrestling and usually has people in pain and wanting to get pinned ... LOL

Actually, in wrestling, the guillotine is the one time you can lock around the head without an arm. You can really put a lot of pressure on the neck using this technique.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a visit from Master Ed Daniels. He was showing us this move (we practiced it for about a good 30 minutes). While explaining it, he mentioned something like "There was a MMA fighter who did this in the UFC a few weeks ago and they made a big deal out of it. I thought it was funny because we've been doing this for at least 30 years now."
