making a gif?

Is it possible to pull a videos from myspace or youtube and make a gift out of a certain section?

There must be a way, babe, but I don't know...

I'm going through this stage where I want to make myself seem much cooler then I really am and would like to make gifs of some of my competitions =P

It's not too hard sweetcheeks. One way is to use Windows Movie Maker and capture frames. Every 3rd or 4th is usually good enough. Save those individual images. Then, you can use Photoshop to make an animated gif out of the images. I'm sure there is other software that does it too, but that's my known method.
