I think what it all boils down to is that these are privately owned companies. They are free to support any political or religious cause that they want. If you disagree with the stand that a certain business has taken on a political/religious issue, then you are free to NOT do business with them. That's the beauty of the free market.
Another example from the other side of the coin here, back in 2009, ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's decided to show their support for gay marriage by temporarily changing the name of their "Chubby Hubby" ice cream to "Hubby Hubby." http://www.benjerry.com/hubbyhubby/ As a result of the stand they took on gay marriage, I will personally NEVER purchase another Ben & Jerry's product ever again. That's my decision as a consumer and my freedom as an American.

ummmm... you mean.. you exercised your own thoughts.... made a decision... and enacted that decision.. to not buy a product based on the company stand on an issue????????????????????????? dude... you got it ALLLL wrong..... now you have to hire a lobbiest...files several lawsuits.... go on a speaking tour.. and do your best to get on Oprah.. then you have to preach about how evil someone is for supporting the company.. even if they don't know their stand.. and firebomb the homes of those that you see buying B&J ice cream.. but the REALLY rich and powerful people that eat B&J ice cream... those people.. you get to them through their friends... man Nate.. even thought we don't agree on every point.... I thought you had your act together better than that....
