Silva/GSP coming?

I honestly don't think this fight is happening anyway.

GSP has said
1. He would go up to 185, but would want a full year to gain weight properly
2. He wouldn't come back down if he did go up

So, I really don't think he is going to get the next stab at Anderson at MW,
who knows, but until papers are signed, I won't get excited.

I would be more excited for Anderson Silva vs Bones Jones or Anderson Silva vs Fedor or even Anderson Silva vs Showgun.

The fact of the matter is, GSP fights to win,,, it is as boring as watching linoleum curl but he is good at it, he knows how to win, he doesn't know how to finish, he doesn't know how to entertain, he doesn't know how to showboat, he just wins,


i see gsp winning by unanimous decision, especially against a counterstriker like silva, AS can't really mount an offense, he just counters

GSP would have a wonderful game plan and he would implement it, AS couldn't rattle GSP and georges would win the chess match, even if he just ran away from AS and took him down once or twice, he would just do the bare minimum to win, with about a one in four chance of catching AS in a sub and a one in ten chance of catching him with a blow

however, AS only takes what his oppponents give him, and GSP is excellent at giving his opponents nothing to work with

GSP isn't Sonnen or Hendo, for one he isn't nearly as big as either of those guys,
I've met them both, and they're both really big guys,

I know he isn't as big but that's not the point, GSP has successfully outwrestled the best wrestlers at 170 including Matt Hughes, Jon Fitch, and Josh Koscheck, all of whom are better wrestlers than Silva. Silva doesn't sprawl or make much of an attempt to keep guys from taking him down. GSP also has better timing between striking/takedowns than Sonnen and Hendo.

I don't think GSP would win, but it wouldn't be a complete and utter domination like everybody thinks.

It would be a fight deserving of the hype. These are arguably the number one and number two best pound for pound fighters in the world. You say it would be a huge letdown if it ended in first round KO, but isn't that against the mantra of what so many "fans" whine and cry about? Isn't that the kind of "killer instinct" people want to see out of the fights they spend their money on?

Sure he has, he's the ONLY PERSON TO DOMINATE ANDERSON in the UFC. His embarrassments are subjective at the least

Sonnen fans/Silva haters need to let it go already.

When the best thing about a guy's career is a fight where he performed well but still got choked out, it's safe to say his fanboys are grasping at straws. His embarrassments aren't subjective, they are embarrassments no matter how you cut it. If you are gonna talk big, you gotta back it up, and losing is not backing it up no matter how fanboys try to spin it. Then, the outside stuff like the testosterone and money laundering are just icing on the cake of failures over the last year.
