If it is an aneurysm that has not ballooned yet, there is a procedure where they shoot coils into the area to help strenghten the artery wall. From what I understand, it is pretty non invasive. Perhaps Texas RN or Neezar could elaborate.

I have no clue about brain surgery. That's one area in which I've never worked and I'm sure the technology has advanced hugely since I went to nursing school. Sorry. What you said sounds right though.
