For the record, I do not think that the plans for the monorail should be included in this stimulus plan. I don't think this idea is something that should be funded by federal tax dollars. I was just aware of it's existence and I think it would be a really awesome thing...IF it is funded PRIVATELY.
Or, at the very least, if tax payers in those cities want to vote on if they should give funds to the project, that should be their decision. BUT.. anybody who has spent time in the southwest knows how cool it would be to have a light rail connecting Phoenix, L.A., and Vegas all together...  that is crazy

The other issue I have with this stimulus bill is why should the rest of the country have to bail out California for all of it's bonehead moves in the last 20years? A 41 billion dollar gap in the state budget! I understand they are sending out IOU's to people who were supposed to get a tax return.
Maybe if they weren't "taking care" of all the illegal immigrants in that state, they would not have a $41 billion deficit.
