Currently, Max McLean is starring in "The Screwtape Letters" Off-Broadway. I saw it in Chicago and thought it was excellent.

It was excellent. McLean essentially does a one-man show (there is a second character, a demon, who doesn't have any lines and essentially acts as a mime). The letters are edited down for time and dramatic effect; however, the lines are true to the book and McLean has a rich enough voice and large enough stage presence to pull it off. If anyone is in the New York City area, this would be a good play to take in.
