I want to buy some classical music but don't know anything about it. I think I like violins. And no Dave, I don't want anything that sounds even remotely like that horrible church "music" you listen to.
Anyone have any suggestions? |

I'm downloading "The Most Relaxing Classical Music In The Universe" by "various artist" from iTunes. I'll wait to see any replies before I buy anything else.

You should try to explore the different genres of classical music on Pandora internet radio. You should be able to narrow down what you like.
NPR has a guide to building a CD collection. The NPR Guide to Building A Classical CD Collection: 350 Essential Works. You can buy it on Amazon. You can listen to Classical Music Radio Stations on the internet or on an iPhone if you have one. They have apps for Classical music stations from around the world. BBC has a nice internet classical music station. BBC Music Magazine sends a CD with each issue. An article in the magazine analyzes and describes the music on the accompanying CD. You could ask forum members to post their top 10 favorite classical CDs.

Sorry, I forgot who I was writing to!
Here's the simple version: John Williams & all other composers saw how awesome Mars was & stole from it. Same way that GSP & all other WWs saw how awesome Matt's wrestling & GnP were so they stole from it. Even if you don't like, at least appreciate it for being the original.
