Now they are going to be directly competing with their own fighters' gyms. That is actually pretty crappy if you ask me. I imagine this is all so Dana has a place to workout when he's travelling;)

From the description, it looks like they will be more along the lines of fitness centers than MMA gyms; but I was thinking the exact same thing.

That's what it sounded like to me too, but I imagine they'll start that way and the next thing you know they'll be moving into classes and then full trainin. I can't imagine Joe Public signing up for any other reason then to learn some of what the UFC fighters know.

I'm sure they'll use the locations for signings and whatnot.

They want everything. Their sponsors their gyms their likeness rights for life.

But to be honest If there was an extreme couture down the road and a UFC gym next to my house I would go to extreme couture.

Well if its more like a Bally's fitness center, with a couple of MMA-type classes, they aren't going to be competition to any real fighter's gym. But do they really have to have their dirty little finger in every MMA pie? Plus, if they go big and have a ton of locations, just who is going to be teaching their classes? Sounds like things would get spread thin, this is just a gimmic to get the casual MMA fan to work out there. I don't really like the idea of it.
