I'm glad his parents and wife were able to be with him when he passed. In sports like these, these guys obviously love what they do even given the high risk of injury and/or death. Hopefully, he expressed that enough to his loved ones and they accepted it so that they might find some comfort in knowing he was doing something he loved when this happened.
Something my lil' sis always tells us (she's worked in/around medical most of her adult life) is there are worse things than death. She's right! Sometimes, it's just harder to hear about when it involves kids and young adults.
