As someone who is involved in both the engineering and biological sciences at my college, I have to say the professors do a good job of keeping their political affliations under their belt.
That is a good point. I have seen numbers for the "hard" sciences and they aren't as bad, although Democrats still greatly outnumber Republicans (sorry, I don't have the numbers on me)
