That's true. You don't badmouth the dying family members. I thought the uproar was because the cop pulled them over and didn't just let them go when their reason was explained.
I understood if the cop felt he still had to issue the ticket. Also, he didn't know what was going on when all of them exited the vehicle(s) so he drew his weapon. But, once the hospital personnel verified his story, the cop should have escorted him in to the hospital and finished writing the ticket at that point.
Like I said, I don't think it was this one incident that lost him his job.
