I agree with Joe, Lombard wasn't doing much in that last round. I'm not sure why Gilbert told Jake to shoot on Hector going into the 2nd round, I feel like it was pretty clear not long after the 1st round started that that was not going to be successful with Hector and only put Jake in a bad position.
Jake needed it to be on the ground if he was going to have a chance to win. Also, Hector never did ANYTHING while on top. Having Lombard in his guard was the safest & most opportune place for Jake to be.
