Aparently, towards the end of the first world war, the Germans learned how to fly across the channel and bomb London. They did it in the middle of the day and killed 147 in the Square Mile.
They also dropped some bombs in the East End...one of which hit a School and killed 18 children...most were about five years old
School was suspended for the rest of the day.
You might like to know...the following day the school re-opened and contined.
A week later the public funerals were held.
