Takeya Mizugaki vs. Nam Phan

Round 1:
Both fighters open orthodox and they're swinging early with Pham scoring a nice liver shot. Mizugaki returns the favor. And another. And another. Mizugaki is far more active and uses a flurry to change levels into a double against the fence. Phan goes down, but is trying to stand and eats monster right hands on the way up. Mizugaki in on another double, which he secures. Phan gets to his feet again, but not without another crushing right hand from Mizugaki. Mizugaki scores two rights and now a left and a body shot. And another. And another plus an overhand right.

Round 2:
Mizugaki charges in behind a barrage of punches and fails on a takedown, but is all over Phan. A left hook absolutely ROCKS Phan and Mizugaki pours it on with a huge flurry of punches. The pace of the fight slows and Mizugaki's shot is repelled by Phan. Phan scores with a right and is in on a single, but can't get it. Phan locks up a kimura grip, but Mizugaki is behind him and manages to drag him to the mat temporarily. Good left hook to the body for Phan. And another. And a left hook that cracks Mizugaki. Two-punch combo works for the Japanese fighter.

Round 3:
Phan lands a sneaky left over the top, but Mizugaki drills a body shot home. Mizugaki in on a shot, but can't get it and he eats a hard left. Mizugaki is hurt, but still standing. The fighters trade hard lefts and Phan scores another liver shot. Mizugaki stuns Phan with a left of his own. And now Phan returns with two lefts to crack Mizugaki. Two hard lefts to the body and head from Mizugaki. Both fighters catch the other off balance. Mizugaki and Phan are trading shot for shot and Phan sprawls out on a takedown attempt from Mizugaki. Thudding left hook from Mizugaki stuns Phan. The two end the round trading punches.

Takeya Mizugaki def. Nam Phan via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-28)
