They would have to recast every single character, but that's fine. The current movie versions of the X-Men are all horrible (even Wolverine), and they resemble their comic book counterparts in name only (their powers, their origins, their backstories, etc. were all completely rewritten for the films). Also, I'm really not sold on Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man (but Tobey Macguire was pretty good in the first two films). And the Fantastic Four movies weren't that great either, so they could ditch all of those actors (they'd have to in the case of the Human Torch).
