Gian Villante vs. Ovince St. Preux

Round 1:
Kevin Mulhall is the referee in charge. OSP opens southpaw while Villante is orthodox and both exchange hard leg kicks. Villante catches a kick and tries to lift it to bring OSP down, but he scrambles. Villante pressing OSP into the fence. Villante attempts a tree top takedown, but St. Preux holds the top of the cage. They separate. St. Preux presses forward with punches, but misses on most. Three-punch combo rocks Villante and the two clinch. They separate again. St. Preux charges forward again and Villante tries to get under him for a takedown, but it's stuffed. Left hook to a takedown attempt for St. Preux, but it goes nowhere. Villante scores with a leg kick and elbow as they separate.

Round 2:
Big leg kick takes St. Preux off of his feet for Villante. Villante more active with leg kicks and OSP is switching stances. Left to the body lands for OSP. St. Preux shoots from outside and is stuffed. He also eats a few punches for his efforts as they separate. More inside leg kicks from Villante. And two more that are having an effect, but St. Preux responds with a left hand.

Round 3:
Villante gets right back to work with leg kicks, but is the victim of an eyepoke. Referee Mulhall asks him right away after calling time if he can see. Villante says no and the fight is stopped. Villante, claiming he misunderstood Mulhall, pleads with him to not stop the fight. It's too late.

Ovince St. Preux def. Gian Villante via majority technical decision (30-28, 30-29, 29-29) after the fight is stopped at :33 of the third round.

Yeah, sheesh! They have a whole new batch of refs, I wish they'd stick with the old dependable ones we know...
