Gleison Tibau vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Round 1:
Referee Mario Yamasaki kicks off the action. Tibau already looking like he has a massive size advantage over the Russian. Nurmagomedov lunges in with a wild left hook. Tibau blocks a body kick and presses forward. Nurmagomedov shoots in for a leg, but Tibau just hops out of it and, after some clinch work against the fence, throws his opponent off. Nurmagomedov shoots back in for another takedown, but again it's unsuccessful and this time the Russian eats a few knees to the body in the process. Like clockwork, Nurmagomedov attempts to drag the fight to the mat but is once more rebuffed by Tibau to close the round.

Round 2:
Both fighters pacing themselves to open the second frame. Tibau slips a punch and staggers Nurmagomedov with a counter left. Nurmagomedov charges forwards, trying unsuccessfully to wrestle Tibau to the mat. Looks like the Russian might want to switch up strategies. Now it's Tibau who shoots in on Nurmagomedov, and this time he gets the takedown. Nurmagomedov quickly stands and gives the level change another chance, but once again, it fails. Yamasaki separates the fighters after the action stalls on the fence. Nurmagomedov connects with a loud right hand as the round comes to an end.

Round 3:
A desperate Nurmagomedov applying the pressure early on the feet. Tibau gets himself trapped against the fence, but he isn't getting taken down anytime soon. Tibau 11-for-11 on takedown defenses so far. Nurmagomedov frustratedly backs off and misses wildly with an overhand right. Tibau changes levels and muscles Nurmagomedov down, briefly getting his back before standing back up. Nurmagomedov traps Tibau against the cage wall, but the takedown eludes him once again. Yamasaki warns the Russian to stop grabbing the fence and the fighters disengage. Both fighters exchange combinations but nothing significant lands. Nurmagomedov storms forward, missing a few last-ditch, homerun swings as the horn sounds.

Khabib Nurmagomedov def. Gleison Tibau via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
