Constantinos Philippou vs. Riki Fukuda

Round 1:
Steve Mazzagatti is the man in charge of the action. Fukuda probing early with inside leg kicks against the orthodox stance of Philippou. Neither fighter willing to engage yet. And the boos start raining down already. Fukuda finally makes the first move, drops levels and wrestles Philippou down against the cage. Philippou stays patient and works his way back up. The former boxer stalking Fukuda, setting up his shots before letting loose with a stiff combination. Slow going to end the round.

Round 2:
Philippou catches a leg kick and threatens a takedown before deciding against it. Philippou whizzes a straight left right down the pipe, defends a takedown and winds up against the fence. Fukuda releases the position after eating a few shots. Both fighters trading punches now. Philippou finds a home for his right hand, while Fukuda continues working leg kicks. Philippou blocks a head kick, circles left and eats another leg kick, which may or may not have grazed his family jewels. After a brief breather, Fukuda opens back on the agressive. Twenty seconds left and neither fighter is willing to commit to anything significant.

Round 3:
Fukuda's corner imploring their fighter to push the pace to open the final round. Fukuda lunges forward and connects with a solid right hook. Philippou successfully fights off a takedown attempt and circles back out. Fukuda lands a body kick, only to be answered by a sharp combination from Philippou. Another Fukuda takedown gets stuffed. More restless boos start to rain down from the crowd. Fukuda connects with massive body kick, but pokes Philippou in the eye in the process. Oh wow, this one is bad. Philippou screaming in agony on the mat. This fight might be stopped. The on-sight doctor tells Mazzagatti to give Philippou some time to "see if it clears up." Dang, a noticeably furious Philippou asks to continue immediately. Philippou storms forward and he smells blood. Fukuda works towards the fence, then circles out to the center of the cage. Thirty seconds left and Philippou continues to press forward, landing a stiff right hand as the final horn sounds.

Constantinos Philippou def. Riki Fukuda via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Fukuda was a cheat to deliberately gouge his eye like that.
